Our Story

How It Started

Brady and Jess met in 2015 at Kayleigh Burk’s (maid of honor) graduation party. By the time they officially met Jess was already head over heels for Brady due to his spectacular performance as LeFou in Cardinal Mooney’s production of Beauty and the Beast. The night she saw the performance Jess joked that she “was going to marry him” one day. Little did sixteen-year-old Jess know that only eight years later she would.

The Beginning

Though Brady and Jess would not reconnect for another three years they certainly never forgot about each other. Then in 2018 Kayleigh and Kieran Burk (groomsman) worked diligently to encourage Brady to reach out to Jess. From the first Instagram DM, they knew there was something special between them, but it was not until Jess proclaimed her love for the Star Wars Holiday Special that Brady was sure it was time for an official date. On May 21, 2018, they met at the Boardman Barnes and Noble for a cup of coffee, and after four hours they walked out together with each other in their lives forever.

Through the Years

They made their relationship official on June 28, 2018, and will have been together for five wonderful years by their wedding. Five years full of so much laughter and love including moving into their first apartment together and adopting their cats, Chalupa and Mochi. Five years that included trials such as long distance and the pandemic where Brady and Jess went three months without seeing each other before going on socially distant dates. What they learned through those tribulations first and foremost was that they never wanted to go another day without the other by their side.

The Engagement

Then on April 1, 2022, Brady stopped joking around and proposed in Washington D.C. at the Tidal Basin surrounded by freshly bloomed cherry blossoms. It was a fairytale engagement that kicked off a whirlwind year of wedding planning. If the first five years of their relationship are any indication of what their marriage will look like then they are in for countless blessings to come.
